Saturday October 26th 2019

We will be collecting shoeboxes for the homeless that we can deliver as part of our ride from Streetbike to the Salvation Army William Booth Centre Life House in Birmingham. You can drop your boxes off at Streetbike during October and we will take them in our van on the day.

So what does the ideal box consist of. We asked several homeless people and the staff at the centre and here’s a list for an ideal box.

A mug (metal preferably)
1 spoon
Toothbrush and toothpaste
A razor and shaving foam
A bar of soap (not shower gel as a bar of soap can last a month whereas gel lasts a week)
A flannel
Roll on deodorant (Please no aerosols as these can be snorted !)
Bottle shampoo
A pair of socks
Sanitary towels (women’s boxes only of course)

Boxes need to be marked up as for Ladies or Gentlemen. Haven’t got a shoebox – stick it in a carrier bag we will have some spares here.

On the day Streetbike will open at 9:00 and the ride will depart at 11:00 as usual. In order to comply with Heath and Safety you will need to register for the ride in advance. You can register for the ride here.

Registration is of course free.

This ride is learner friendly.
